It is a political issue and is one of the prime items the new administration used to get elected. It is going to be very difficult for them to drop AGW completely from their agenda even though they have backed way down on it since the election. Maybe they will give Gore a cosmetic position and then do nothing but block anybody from implementing real solutions that do not use coal or oil like Clinton did to keep his uncle happy.
All these financial issues currently afflicting us and the ones to come in the near future, will get exacerbated if the government passes non sense AGW - man made global warming- legislation.

Particularly when there is no more warming and we are experiencing a cooling trend.
People should stop worrying about Global Warming, they also need to know that politicians and global organizations will not forget about this matter, and most importantly, they need to realize that "man made global warming" is a code name for "massive and global government intervention in the economy".
We have better things to worry about besides subsidizing the false belief in Man-made global warming.

Fuel & energy taxes tend to irritate people and the money raised just gets absorbed into government coffers, not spent on alternative energy projects. There's no such thing as feeling good about paying tax.
People are also getting tired of hearing about it.
Also 2008 is seeing record cooling. The 'science' is bunk and more and more people are saying so.

No because global warming is actually real. It's not propaganda. I know that the earth goes through warming and cooling stages, but the warming stages keep getting hotter and hotter. Plus, some of the worst disasters in recorded history have been since 1990. That should tell you something right there.
Global warming or not, we are still polluting the planet and ruining it for the future - so who cares if we have money but cant breathe?? We still need to look after this planet for our children.
