Why do people like the Jonas Brothers/Miley Cyrus so much?

Okay people, before you go off on me here, this is an OPINION question. Please respect my opinion as well as anyone else who answers.
Personally, I hate both of the singers/bands.
Miley Cyrus is as obnoxious as it gets, and while little girls (say under 10) may think she is great, I think it's crazy how 15/16 year old girls find anything appealing about her or her singing/poor acting.
And the Jonas Brothers are the most overrated band I've ever seen. Their music sounds like whiny teenage boys whose voices are about to crack. Ewww. I'd rather listen to N*SYNC.
Again, please respect my opinion, as I will respect yours.

I don't know. But if you've noticed, most of the fans are preteens and young teenagers, and talent usually isn't a factor in deciding what music they'll listen to.

it's the hype and media of now. it's like how we were when boybands were popular and the spice girls...its a fad for the younger audiences and well i don't understand the older ppl liking miley myself. i watch Hannah Montanna lol cuz i honestly think it's pretty funny ^_^ haha. and i think the jonas brothers whine and screesh a lot but i suppoe they're popular cuz well two of them at least are really cute ^_^

but w/e. the media pumps them up and lots of kids watch the Disney or Family channel were they are heavly advertised. it'll pass.

I think they are great! I guess it is just opinionated but they are some of my favorite singers and stuff sooooo yea = )

People like miley in my opinion because the parents liked billy ray cirus and they introduced there kids to his miley cirus/hannah montana I hate hannah montana but everyone else in my school love her.

OMG i know exactly what your talking about! Everyone at my school is like OH EMM GEE NICK JONAS IS SOO HAWT, I LOOVE HIM!!! and im just like wow..grow up.. and im in 8th grade!! ughh they are soo annoying and miley cyrus is wayy overrated too. I mean its ok if ur like 5-11 but its stupid if ur older than that..but personally i HATE them both and you know what? people need to grow up and stop watching disney channel when your like 13 and start watching mtv like a normal teen! jeez! they are just stupid little disney stars.

I like them alright. I'm not a HUGE fan, but I like some of thier music. We are actually doing 'Hannah Montana in Concert' for our spring concert. It's prety cool becuase there's a soli for my section (low woodwind).

Different people just like different types of music. I don't really think Miley's lyrics are all that; I like lyrics that, to me, have more meaning. But, I do think her songs are catchy. I have part of Nobody's Perfect stuck in my head, actually.

Oh, yeah, i completely agree with you. I think that little kids dont really have much of their tastes formed yet, so they just adore and gawk over whoever is popular and rich, and happens to be on their favorite channel, the disney channel.
Personally , i think that miley Cyrus has an okay voice, not great or anything, and she is over rated. ANd dont even get me started on the jonas brothers. They suck. They cant write, they cant sing, zero talent whatsoever, and that includes looks! everyone is like OMG!!! the JONAS bros are so HAWTT!! and i'm like, uh huh, sure...

personally, i think that people like them simply because they are "pretty" or "cute" people...i dont think they have much talent in singing personally...but it totally depends on the person's point of view, like you said... :)

i personally think they are overrated, but hey we always had someone to look up to when we were that age. when i was 12, it was hilary duff. but, yes it does get scary when a 15/16 year old becomes obsessed. some of the jonas brothers music is alright. "when you look me in the eyes" has pretty good lyrics to it. it also freaks me out when people who i go to school with (who are going to be driving next year!) are obsessed with high school musical. that's seriously the dumbest thing ever. that movie is for like 7 year olds.

Miley....I don't care for her, but the Jonas Brothers are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love them!!! Not only are they really good looking, but they have great voices and really care about their fans. They aren't just celeberties, but they try to connect with their fan base. I love them!

Because it's step one of Disney's world takeover. The Hannah Montana fans of today are the adults/lawmakers/PRESIDENT?!?!? of the future, and quite honestly, I'm frightened.

I like the Jonas Brothers music, but I do agree that they are really overrated. Also I'm sorry people, but they aren't even that hot. I think Miley is also overrated. She is pretty, but her singing stinks and her acting is ok.

My 8 year old daughter adores Miley cirus. I think its because she is older and cooler, Also on her show there is the whole secret identity thing going on. All the girls in my daughters class is infatuated with her. I myself cant stand her.

I don't know...it really is weird. Personally, I hate both of them. Especially the Jonas Brothers, they have nooo talent to speak of AT ALL. And when Nick voice goes like "aaa" at the end of every song it annoys the heck out of me!!!!!

Definitely agree on the Miley thing, her acting sucks so bad. As for the JoBros, I like a few of their songs, though I admit they are taking it a little too far on this. Although Joe Jonas is reeeeally hot.
