There have been several crystal skulls found throughout the world. I believe in them. They say when a certain number has been found, our lives will change.
There were several crystal skulls that were made by craftsmen for a French swindler and sold by him for much money. An English swindler acquired one of them and carried on the fine traditon of using it to con people. His daughter did more of that when he died. There is nothing mystic about these skulls, and the tales about them are untrue. Indiana Jones is fiction, and the crystal skulls were part of a swindle.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was a fictionalised story based loosely around meso American myths and ruined by George Lucas' ego by sticking in a space ship at the end.
The crystal skulls themselves are a series of quartz crystal human skulls, either clear like glass or milky in appearance. They were claimed to be Mesoamerican, Aztec or Mayan artifacts, which caused a huge storm at the time, but huge pressure from the scientific community forced them to submit them for testing, and this proved that those examined were manufactured in Germany in the mid-19th or early 20th Century.
The Crystal skulls are reported to have mystical or spiritual powers by members of numerous new age movements, but this has never been proven either and in fact has been disputed further by historians who state that myths and legends of Crystal Skulls with powers absolutely do not exist in ANY meso American cultures. Well I am not a strong believer in the 13 mysterious skulls when I know that the Mayans, the Aztec and Incas created more than just 13 of those skulls... But when several universities and explores already have more than 13 skull... No I do not think that putting them all together will create anything magical.............. If you dig deep and find out how the first skull came about, it was found by an archeologist who hadn't found anything in a long while and was about to have his funding pulled.
Quite out of the blue this skull appeared, on his daughters birthday may I add, and he got more funding.
There is no evidence of any mention of crystal skulls in any of the temples in central america which leads me to think the skull was planted there.
The crystal skulls have been proved to be modern, and in fact have absolutely nothing to do with the garbage presented in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The crystals skulls in question are all shaped like humans, not aliens, and no one ever associated them with aliens, only with a lost technique. Since they've been tested to be modern, there's no longer a mystery to the technique only to the identity of the manufacturer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_sku...
it has been proven to be a phony and is made with modern tools.

Like all of Indiana Jones, it is assumed that the relics are myths. The ark, the grail, the sankara stones, the crystal skull (indy version) have never been proven real. So, for right now, it is myth.
myth.
