My computer crashed today...:thumbdown: yea it sucks, but im really happy I invested in 2 500GB hardrives to back up all my files.

Congratulations! Isn't it great that your posting this instead of "I lost all my data... cry cry cry." I hope more people learn about this. Now when you restore your computer, make sure you copy everything back so you have 2 copies again. And soylentgreen RAID is a great storage tool with limited recoverability, better than the average bear. Make sure you still keep 2 copies. I have seen way too many failed RAID arrays to really trust them unconditionally, no matter the configuration.
just cause it crashed...doesn't mean it's all gone...

Also, RAID is pretty foolproof if you do RAID-1...unless all of the drives go down.
Did the main drive crash or the secondary? I never save anything of significance on my main drive for obvious reasons. Gotta run my new 1.5 TB NAS drive with RAID for back-up.:D
