Is it really a compelling argument to say pray to Mary because God might be busy or uninterested? | | Published by: cfz 2010-03-20 |

God is never too busy to hear us. We are too busy to hear Him.
Praying to Mary is a sin. She didn't die for us - Jesus did. The Bible says we are to pray to the Father in Jesus' Name.
Praying to the saints is a sin too. They are human just like you and I and can do nothing for us since they have passed beyond this life. They have no mediatorial office.
An attribute of God is that he is perfect in all dispositions. Therefore the attribute of being constrained to time and efforts (busy) aren't applicable as He is the creator of those attributes and is superior to them. The negative attribute of being "uninterested" is too an attribute for creaton but not of the Creator. So again, God is abouve it. There is no medium is praying to God, as God is alone in His unique and perfect way. So pray directly to God. There is certainly divine reason as to why God is testing you on patience perhaps, or other traits of your character, to make you an improved believer in God.
Huh I've never heard that before. Makes sense.
No! Wherever did you get that notion.
Actually, it's insulting to God to imagine God is limited in God's attention or attention span. Catholics pray to Mary for the very reason that occured at Cana when the party ran out of wine. Mary asked her Son to rescue the hosts, and Jesus obliged. Catholics know they can pray to Jesus, but they know he will not turn down a request of his mother, Mary.
Neither Mary nor the saints can hear any prayer whatsoever. When ppl pray to God through these NO ONE INCLUDING GOD HIMSELF hears their prayers because they were not made through His Son Jesus Christ.
1Ti 2:5 For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
I've never heard such an argument. Even though I was raised Catholic and we revere Mary more than most denominations.
I think praying to saints is just supposed to be a way to make praying more comfortable and personal. Besides, you don't pray "to" them, you supposedly just ask them to intercede to Jesus for you.
God's never busy or uninterested. He hears your every prayer.
No.
God is perfectly happy sharing his grace and power with the faithful in heaven, just as he always promised he would. The compelling arguments would be found here:
Under God's rules, the mother of the King is the Queen, and the Queen is the official intercessor with the King, on behalf of all the people.
See 1st Kings 2:19 and Luke 1:30.
Regarding ruling and reigning:
Rev 2:26 And he that shall overcome and keep my words unto the end, I will give him power over the nations.
Rev 3:5 He that shall overcome shall thus be clothed in white garments: and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life. And I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.
Rev 3:21 To him that shall overcome, I will give to sit with me in my throne: as I also have overcome and am set down with my Father in his throne.
The preceding promises apply to all, but they have already been obtained by the Blessed Virgin Mary, courtesy of her divine son, Jesus.

Hence the revered Mother of God, from all eternity joined in a hidden way with Jesus Christ in one and the same decree of predestination,[47] immaculate in her conception, a most perfect virgin in her divine motherhood, the noble associate of the divine Redeemer who has won a complete triumph over sin and its consequences, finally obtained, as the supreme culmination of her privileges, that she should be preserved free from the corruption of the tomb and that, like her own Son, having overcome death, she might be taken up body and soul to the glory of heaven where, as Queen, she sits in splendor at the right hand of her Son, the immortal King of the Ages.

I don't pray to Mary for help. I pray with Mary, her words from the bible. I pray the same thoughts as she, for now we are serving the same God. God is never busy, but He isn't the only one in Heaven and I won't act like it either. I pray with the saints- praising God of healing and love. I pray with the angels who are singing glory, glory, glory is the Lord. I don't ask Mary for a miracle, I ask God for that. God bless...
I don't understand how 1 John 2:9 figures into either the Q or the A although it is certainly a true statement. As for me, I hate no man. I have empathy for some, and pity for others. i avoid some for my own wellbeing, but I hate no one. Report Abuse
very compelling
My understanding is that there are two aspects to the Lifeforce. One that flows out from the source of Life, we call the Feminine, and the other flowing back we call the Masculine.
But these are not biological things. They are spiritual. More charcteristics, than bodily functions.
And we need to bring these things into balance within us by showing respect to Both.
No. I though God was meant to be all powerful and all loving? sortof goes against what makes God God.

no, but you may look at how Mary, influenced her son, with the mere mention of the wine being gone, Jesus, performed his very first miracle, just over her concern for the couple's embarrasment.
So, a compelling argument is , if you want something from Jesus, just ask his mother about it, she will take the request
to him .
I agree.
Mary was human so praying to her is no different than asking your parents for something. You can ask, but they can't exactly give. Also, if God created us, why would he become uninterested in His creation? So I say no.
