After I got SP2 installed, I didnt re-install alot of the addon programs I had...i.e..SpySubtract, SpyBot, SpyWare Gaurd, Yahoo popUp Ad Blocker or their SpyWare program. I had been using the EXtreme DEFRAG tool form DF Extreem. I now ONLY use the onboard system tools from MS Disk Sweeper and the defragger.

I kept A-Squared, Mailwasher Pro and (.b9) Benign and of course the AV program 7.0 AVG FREEBEE. I do have the HouseCall ICON from TrendMicro in the upper tool bar just for "a second opinion" scan. And that is all.

MS XP/SP2 has been doing a great job in aolt of realms I didnt think I would appreciate prior to the upgrade to SP2.
I now stay current with all the MS updates and have a tweak for you who have 256RAM...or in that smaller realm of RAM. It works very good aa MS had left this out in the mock up of XP from the very beginning.::::

This will eliminate DLL caching, programs won't re-launch as quickly as before, but it'll bring closure to every close. Perfect for low memory systems or programming environments. The slowdown is almost unnoticed on fast systems and can leave memory for intense operations clear to be used such as video editing.

Fire up REGEDIT.EXE and navigate to
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Explorer" -- create a new String Value in the right pane and name it: "AlwaysUnloadDll" (remove quotes " ").
Give this new string a value of 1,
close the Registry Editor.

Your computer may need to be rebooted to see this change affect.
