hi got outpost 2.5. installed it on my workstation but now there are some problems concerning FILTNT.sys - yes i know, there are serveral post about this problem. i searched the web and read that i have to reinstall outpost - i do so but nothing changed.. same error...!
is there any trick, or is there maybe any fixed filtnt.sys ???
Sorry to hear that it still is a problem for you guys. I had exactly the same symptoms with SP2+DEP+Athlon 64 as you have, but the latest version of OP solved it for me, I donīt have to put OP in any exclusion list for DEP.
If any of you who have athlon 64 and get blue screen of death when booting the computer and want to disable the DEP feature you can check this thread how to do it:
http://outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11525
Maybe Iīm wrong here but I belive that the problem in P4 systems related to hyperthreading (I think Iīve read about it in this forum), not DEP since Intel hasnīt implemented that feature yet, but please feel free to correct me if Iīm wrong.
Driver_IRQL_not_less_or_equal.:: 6 posts - 2 authors - Last post: Nov 7, 2007This has been a real problem lately and I could use some help. I renamed kmixer. sys to kmixer.bak since most of the dump problems I have had http://www.d-a-l.com/help/windows-xp-help/52757-driver_irql_not_less_or_equal.htmlHOME | I'm also having the same problem with my amd 64 3200+ s939 system. I tried everything, even format my pc and when i install outpost 2.1 i was still getting the same problem. I tried to install sp2 but when the computer try to boot i got the same message again. Its even worse when amd cool and quite is enable. Is there gonna be a patch or i have to change my firewall? thx
bluescreen with driver_irql_not_less_or_equal ... you know
like all the other users only because agnitum is to lame to fix this litte error in any update
Did you use the Support Form (http://www.agnitum.com/support/supportform.html) to report your problem? If not, you can complain I think. If yes, it's maybe hard to find out what causses this.
I run OP2.5 (370) with XP Pro SP2 on an AMD64 system and get DEP errors unless Outpost main module is in the DEP exclude list. So as far as I am concerned the problem with FILTNT.SYS may be fixed but Agnitums claim that Outpost 2.5 is 'fully SP2 compatable' is not strictly true.
I have reported this to Agnitum, however I have never heard back from them.

UPDATE: I have just submitted this as a bug for a second time and have been requested to send in debug logs etc which I have done. I hope they can now get to the bottom of this.

What error message do you get?

You say: "...when I install outpost 2.1..." Download the latest version of Outpost : 2.5.370.4626 (370) No need to change firewall.
There was a problem with filtnt.sys, athlon 64 and SP2 because SP2 enables the DEP-feature (Data execution prevention, also called NX) But it is fixed in the latest version of Outpost.
nice idea but i haven't installed SP2
:: edit
i tried but still the same problem
I have same problem since 2.1.
P4 3.0 HT
WinXP SP2
OP 2.5.370.4627 (370)
I can confirm that this is not a problem that has been solved. I have it on a P4 system!
Still, and also with the latest version installed after a totally new install of the complete windows XP with SP2. And without SP2 for the matter....
