Yes and yes it is completely from scripture.
I talk to her and ask her to pray with me and for me. We're one big family; why would I ignore her? I don't think Jesus likes it when people give His mom the cold shoulder.
nope, I pray to Father in Heaven directly. and end it saying it's in Jesus's name i pray. amen.
like....
Father in Heaven, please help me with ?????. in Jesus's name. amen.
or LORD, please help me. amen.
no i only pray to the god of the bible in the name of jesus, i dont pray to jesus or the holy spirit or to any saint of the bible or its believers. Absolutely not, that is Idolatry and Jesus warned us against this type of practice. I choose to pray to Jesus directly. Mary was a wonderful, blessed, human being, but she needs a Savior just like all of us do.
God Bless You...Peace.
Mary is dead. She can not hear you. I pray to Jesus.
I pray the rosary for the heck of it.
sometimes because I just want to tic people off.

but mostly because I have a deep understanding of it.
Not anymore because the word of God does not command us to pray to anyone except to God alone. Remember that the disciples ask the Lord how to pray? I began with "Our Father, Who art in heaven..."
Read the entire book of Acts and see how the early believers of Christ prayed.
No. I see no point in asking Mary for help when I can go directly to Jesus. Mary was a normal human just like me. She sinned and she eventually died. In Heaven she is just another Christian. She does not have a special throne and does not make decisions. That is God's purview. Yes she was a good woman and yes she obeyed God but that does not elevate her to queen of Heaven or any other such title.
yes, I have conversation with Mary daily and ask her to intercede for me and mine. She is not dead---if she were dead why in the world would we all have faith in Jesus for? That is the good news that people need to hear---Even the Jews believed in a Heaven that they could go to on the last day---Jesus has risen from the dead and he is alive and as a member of the Body of Christ ---we are alive too and death will not claim us---that is the good news---we are not dead when we "die" we are only changed in the twinkling of an eye.
Why pray to her when Jesus died so that we could pray to God himself?
nope
No, it is unscriptural. Mary cannot answer prayers.
no
I would if I was Catholic. I dont see how anyone could diss Mary anyway. That's Jesus' mom... "honor your father and mother"? Yeah theres some scripture for you. Its in there somewhere. XD
I'm not Catholic or Christian, but you see why Im not Christian? I'd love to know what Christianity has done for females besides allow them to be beaten and put in a shed while on their period (OT, I know, but its still a piece of Christianity's history).
Sheesh, common sense these days.
No, because she is dead, and the Bible says she will remain so until her Son comes to resurrect her back to life. She is not currently in Heaven, so she can't answer prayers. All Marian apparitions are demonic manifestations, and when people pray to "Mary" they are actually praying to Satan.
no...i don't pray to 'eesaa (jesus) 'alaihi salaam, maryam (mary) 'alaihaa salaam, or to muhammad sallahu 'alaihi wa salaam, as great as they are...they were just people. i pray to allah (god) ta'alaa.
Just to clarify, no one, not even Catholics, pray to Mary, they venerate her as a saint and good person, and because they know that she and the saints are closer to god, request their help. (They ask Mary to Pray for them.)
I'm Orthodox so yes, I ask her for help in a way. Simply explained, we believe that those who died are still with us in some way, as in, they can look down upon us. When we ask them to pray for us, it's just like asking a live person to pray for us.
A lot of people think that Catholics and Orthodox pray *to* the saints because of the wording of many of their prayer requests, but they don't actually pray to these people. I only pray to God, period.
When saying a "Hail Mary, full of grace...." you're not really praying to her. You are asking her to intercede on her behalf, to give God a message.
Mary was only the mother to His flesh, not to His essence.
I ask her for her prayers, because she is in heaven and therefore not dead. I ask my own mom for prayers sometimes, and friends. No difference (to Catholics, at least) than asking a saint for their prayers.
Yeah, like she's an intermediary, a messenger...I tell her, Mary, tell Jesus that I need help mowing my lawn
