I am only interesting in log for 'Attack Detecting', is there a way I can stop all other activities log except A.D. ?
The reason is my HD's noice killing me as it 'clicking' as each OP log activity. I am using OP2.1 and so far I am happy with it.
Well, it seems the 'end of day' size does remained, however I believe OP still writes (log) to the MDB file all the time but instead creating new log record it rather doing update I maybe wrong.
My expectation is have OP to just 'scan' the transaction but not really write or update to the MDB. Can it be possible ?
I was also getting a bit annoyed about Outpost reading and writing continously to the harddrive so I´ve disabled the logging and the drive gets nice and quiet :) My drives are healthy, the " Outpost logging sound" has been on every drive I have used. I might add that I have an open case to get motherboard and CPU cooled without any additional fans.
When looking with a filemonitor program that shows in realtime what the harddrive is doing it shows Outpost activity all the time and stops when the logging is turned off.
I guess I can live without the logging once OP is configured as I want it, if someone attacs me I trust OP to protect me and I dont care who does it :)

Did you select the "Exit and Shutdown" option from the Outpost File menu? Just closing the window will only close the GUI, not the Outpost service itself. Please note that you should disconnect from the Internet before shutting down Outpost.
Did as per suggested by shut-down OP then rename op_data.dll, and re-start OP, check op_data.MDB still increase as I surfing to new page. Normal ? or did I make mistake some how ?
It is possible to reduce the amount of data kept for individual components (via the Log Viewer File/Log cleanup settings/Use individual settings/Customise) and it is possible to disable logging completely (see the Disabling Logging (http://outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7392) FAQ).
It is not possible however to disable logging for individual components. Given the importance of logging for when problems arise, I would be very dubious about seeing this feature added.
As for your hard disk, if the clicking is very noticeable and/or has started recently then it may be an indication of impending failure in which case you should backup your data as a priority (if using Windows 2000/XP consider imaging software like Drive Snapshot (http://www.drivesnapshot.de/en/) which is available as a trial download with time-limited backup and unlimited restore capability) and get a replacement disk. If it is "normal" noise then getting a quieter hard disk or using a noise-reducing enclosure would seem better solutions.
