This is the release that defines the HD format. (http://www.cinemablend.com/dvds/300-HD-DVD-2463.html)
I'm still not switching over to blue ray or HD DVD until they start using packaging that doesn't suck. And also not until I can afford an HD TV and HD/Blue Ray DVD player...
Pheno - is that download HD? I don't have a 360 yet. :(
I see HD as a social status, something I care nothing about. The inability to see a film with the best sound and picture quality possible is not going to ruin my movie-watching experience. As long as I can see and hear it, I'm good.
Hey, hey easy now... I bought the DVD for the special features. I just wanted to see what it looked like in HD. Can you blame me? I was hesitant to jump on either bandwagon because who knows what'll happen...and it'd suck to be sittin on a bunch of discs that are irrelevant. The best you could hope for is being one of the few who got the Star Wars set on laserdisc...but as cool as that would be, I don't want to be that guy.
However, the recent price drop to $179 along with 5 movies for the 360 HD-DVD player has me intrigued. It won't happen right now, but at that price when I can I'll probably pick it up. have you tried the online functionality at all? And do you plan to recut the movie, or just go and watch what other people do?
Besides...300 will be available for download on the 360 in just a couple weeks. I'm going to view it that way for right now.
Someone pull Murphy's status as Badass for admitting he's illegally downloading movies on this site.
Someone hit you with the stupid stick this morning son?
I don't have HD-DVD because I have Blu-ray. :bjump
For admitting to it on a website that gets over a million unique viewers, some of which are probably scouting for piracy... um... I'm going to have to say, "Yes, I do blame you." I'm sorry, but I really doubt that. :lol

I just downloaded the 720p WMV and played it on my 360... It's not quite Blu-Ray or HD-DVD quality, but it's damn close... Especially since I don't have 1080p yet.
Switching to HD or Blu ray isn't happening for me anytime soon. I don't have an HDTV or a player that supports the format, and I don't have the financial means to upgrade anytime soon. I'm fine with what I have for now.
When you switch over, sure there are certain movies that are going to be really impressive and have them done justice with this format, like 300. Basically not all movies are going to be released on either of these formats right away, and I don't know if the studios plan on it anytime soon.
Yes it is.
Well...720p because the file size is too large I guess for them to offer films in 1080. At least, I'm guessing that's the reason since I never looked into it. We're getting FiOS soon so it wouldn't matter to me.
