Pinkfreud-ga did a great job on this for me some time ago. But now we can't find a copy of the video. It's title is as per above, it's by A&E, the people who answer their phones have no knowledge of the thing, and I need a copy for a course I am going to teach. Susan, Thanks for the kind words! I've been looking for a tape for you, but this is a toughie. I'd like to leave the question open for other Researchers; someone else may be able to find this elusive video. Regarding your question about how to become a GA "maven person": at this time, new Researchers are not being brought onboard. Hi, I am not sure. 1) what is NTSC format? Does it work on a regular VCR type machine? 2) are you sure you've found one for sale? b/c I've found places that say they have this video, but they don't actually, it's a "maybe," as per the Amazon used list. But, if I can actually buy the copy you've found, and have it in my physical hands sometime soon, and the copy will play in a vcr machine that a university is likely to own, then hey, you've done it. Susan, I'm afraid I can't help you in dealing with A&E's telephonic Neanderthals. I have a hearing loss that prevents me from using the phone. Fortunately, the Internet has made it possible for me to communicate quite well under most circumstances, but phone ordering lines are beyond my capability. The best suggestion I can make is essentially the same as the suggestion I made in answering your previous question: buy "Mysteries of the Bible, Boxed Set 1," a 6-tape set that includes "Scarlet Women of the Bible." At present time, half.com has two merchants offering this boxed set. I've still had no luck in locating your video (other than the aforementioned boxed set). I just finished reading something in Time magazine that might be useful for your course. In the August 11th issue of Time, there's an article entitled "Mary Magdalene: Saint or Sinner?" It's about the "harlotization" of Mary Magdalene, and the current cleansing of her reputation. I wonder if somehow your IP address has been misidentified as being foreign. Maybe it would help to connect to half.com through a proxy, such as http://proxify.com (if you try this, be sure to "uncheck" the boxes for "remove all cookies" and "remove all scripts" so that cookies and scripts will be permitted.) Then log in to half.com using your usual eBay username and password so that the site will recognize you, but will associate you with a different IP address during this transaction. It will be as if you're calling from another computer in a different state (I believe Proxify originates in Texas). Another thing that occurs to me: just as an experiment, borrow the computer of a friend who has a different Internet Service Provider, and conduct the transaction from your friend's computer. Surely not everyone in Maine is considered foreign by half.com!

Susan, In order to buy from half.com, you need to be a registered customer. Half is a division of eBay. I believe you're being diverted to eBay because half is not recognizing you as an existing account. If you are already registered at eBay, you need to "sign in" at half.com with your eBay username and password in order to make a purchase. Once that is done, I believe you will have no difficulty obtaining the boxed set. In case you are concerned about possible scams, I have bought many, many books, CDs, and DVDs through half.com, and I've never had a problem. It's a very reliable, trustworthy site, in my opinion. ~Pink

Hmm, it seems we found the same thing on Amazon. It's a pre-order for a used copy, and I believe you'll have to wait a while to get it. Perhaps this is not the best solution. I even saw the library lists of the libraries that have the title, but, of course, are not selling it. NTSC is a VHS format, which is used in the US. PAL is the other format, used in Europe. Usually, you can't play an NTSC tape on PAL, and vice versa, since there'll eitherbe no image and sound or just a black-and-white display appears. By the way, since Pinkfreud answered your previous question, there's nothing wrong with specifically asking for her again. She is dedicated to her customers. If I do find something along the way myself, though, I'll let you know.

Yes, I have. And it is no help at all. the problem is that as I go to checkout, it sends me to ebay, and the note that half.com is only in the US and Canada. And last time I checked, Maine was part of the US! So something at half.com is getting the wrong info that I am not in the US. I don't get it. Susan

Dear Pink: this is elusive! One of your posings even had the video equivalent of an ISBN number, but still we can't find it. Maybe you can figure out how to talk to a human being at A&E, b/c my assistant can only get people at the call center who know zippo about anything that I can't see on my screen.
