Assalamualaikum (Peace be with you) brother. I am a football player myself n a fan ofcourse. I love players that can play and make the play. Someone who has good skills, many skills isnt important, n knows how n when to use them successfully + who could assist his team mates n make good oppurtunities for them. Being selfish is a very bad trait. U have mentioned some of the good skills such as passing n free kicks, which r a must but not even enough to be called a player, dribbling, heading, crossing, very good ball control, responsiveness, speed, excellent judgement of the ball n situation n how to respond accordingly r very much important. Apart from these a very good understanding of the own team, especially with the players that r most close to u during the game (Those whom u pass to most n take passes from most,closer in distance), n if possible, of the rival team is also needed. And not needed to mention, being a good person is a must wether a sportsman or not, coz whats the point of being a very good player but a bad person that no one respects.

My favourite player of all time is Zidane, he had all those characteristics, I hope that u n others would agree.
Infact I dont remember if I have watched a football match after he retired. I think he should have continued, n still should come back.
