    I play football and yesterday my arm [Shuolder] got hit alot and i got hit from an angle off-gaurd and now i can't lift it high or it hurts and everytime i move it, it hurts and if i bend it or move it around it hurts.

    And it hurts alot, not a stinging pain it hurts bad though.
    Also, last night it hurt so bad and i couldn't even move it but today it just hurts really bad?

  • Unless it was wrenched away from your body, it probably just very badly bruised. The the deltoid,bursa, plus the anterior ligaments probably took a lot of hits. Apply a lot of ice, Advil 3 tabs 3x/day (with food) and Tylenol 1 tab 2x/day will help with swelling and pain as well. Try to keep up normal movements, but I'd give football and weight training a break. If not substantially improved by Monday, see your doctor. If substantially improved, talk to the equipment manager to see if there are any alternative shoulder pads or attachments that might give you better protection.

  • Have your shoulder assessed by the team's athletic trainer. Sounds like it could be torn, but the shoulder can be tricky when it comes to injuries ... could be torn or at least a bad strain. Nonetheless, it should be evaluated by either the team A.T. or a doctor. In the mean time, I wouldn't push it to the point of pain. Keep it rested or keep the elbow below shoulder level when you are using it.... no weight either until directed otherwise.

    I'm pretty sure I got my shoulder tendonosis from trying to do too much on the to GROW new ligament and tendon fibers that have been torn (micro-tears).
