Buy Fur & Feather or the Poultry keeper from your local newsagent they will even order these papers for you.they are often advertised in these papers.

I think you would get them cheaper than the Eglu,I think they are way expensive,it would be just as cheap to buy your eggs from a local store rather than pay £500-£1000.for one of those.
Hi i know of this verry good and kind breeder from whom i have boght so many of my birds. He sales at cheaper rates and his bierd are very nice. He has also helped me with all my probs about birds. Why not try him on pets_man@yahoo.com.
I do like the Eglu design, but they are SO expensive! I think the cheapest one I saw was around $350?

Have you googled chicken tractors? With a little construction, you can make your own mobile hen house and enclosure. There are lots of free designs online. The added benefit of moving your coop is they won't overgraze their yard, they fertilize as they go, and they are always contained, which reduces the risk of predation.
If you don't feel that ambitious, check the classified sections of the newspaper for people selling used dog houses or calf hutches. Either works great for a small chicken coop. You could use one of those and fence in a yard or aviary (depending on the chicken breed - some fly and some don't).
We free range our birds, but some of my layers are getting a little too comfortable with expanding their territory to include my neighbor's yard as well. Generally, chickens stay close to home and don't wander, and until recently, I've never even considered fencing them. A chicken tractor is the easiest and least expensive way to safely house and contain birds, so I may be busy building my own in the next few weeks.

Although Eglu's look great, they're expensive and apparently some people have found them difficult to access which would cause a problem if you have a poorly hen who needs attention.
In general coops are expensive when you consider they're just a shed with a nest box attachment and some roosting bars. I have 2 wooden coops. One's a 6'x4' which I bought from a local sawmill and this can house up to 12 hens or 16-18 bantams.
My second one is much smaller and houses up to 6 normal hens or 8-10 bantams. I got this off a coop supplier on eBay and paid £115 including delivery.
Both coops I had to construct myself but they were well made and straightforward.
If you want you can convert a shed, this may save you money. Building a coop from scratch doesn't tend to work out cheaper considering the price of wood has shot up recently.
