In good old times, there were men of strength, power, dignity, honor and yes, they used to give lesser importance to women, but bigger importance to their own destiny, their family's pride, national or international recognition, intellectual superiority and what not. What has happened to the men today being too much involved in women, sex, music, dance, etc.? btw, it was all said with a due respect of women, of course.
pop culture seems to perpetuate such a stereotype, though not all men today are like that....I for one keep to myself and continuously attempt to learn all that I can
With all due respect (or not) for women- Men seem to be paying more attention to women because of media publicity. Men have always paid attention to women up to the point of breedin' to continue species- is Momma Natures little joke on men. The good old times had men doing things that got recorded after they had the women lined up to reproduce or trying to get assets to induce women to reproduce with the rich, powerful men. After a few years the men had to get out of house and do something else to maybe swap mates or get some peace from crying kids- this lead to the brewing industry and travelers searching for more assets (or a*s*s). In the meantime the women were comparing the men and gossiping- the men overheard and tried to stay ahead of the gossip(or took advantage of the nasty 's L u T' comments about other women) and joined together on various enterprises- see Playboy as example. This version of history not approved by NOW- (but may have some truth with humor).
Hmm yeah things are like that in North America now but visit one of the asian countries any day and you will see how both men and women are competing in a world full of oppurtunities. I think American media has brainwashed both men and women into thinking that reporoduction is the only goal in one's life. Ofcourse there are some men out there who still believe in the things you mentioned but a lot of them seem to be called "losers", "nerds", and "geeks" which as we all know is a load of sh!t. Why are women always worried about men?
I.E. "Feminism"?
Most people just follow the crowd and so they do what their society expects of them. Manipulating women so as to get as much sex as possible is what society expects of men.
