Penn State - they're incredible this year!
We Are Penn State!
Penn St. is the biggest surprise. I'm happy for them. Hopefully they can represent the Big 10 in the national championship and maybe get a win. God knows Ohio State can't.
Wisconsin is the biggest surprise as far as under achieving. The way they played Penn st. was disappointing. Everyone knew that Michigan was going to be bad, but Wisconsin was still supposed to be a contender. penn st was supposed to be good. they were picked 2nd in the big ten preseason and their schedule is so weak they are not a huge surprise to me.
the biggest surprise has to be minnesota. no one could of expected a 6-1 team after last year they won 1 game and were the other big ten team to lose to a sub div team. granted they have not beaten anyone of note this year but they are the biggest surprise
Mich is the biggest disappointment no one expected them to win the conf but they did not expect them to struggle this much either. Rich rod might have wished he stayed at wvu he had a better shot at landing his prized terrell pryor who wanted to stay closer to home than mich.

Northwestern being 5-1 is much more of a surprise to me.
Yes, I have to agree Penn State is fantastic this year. I don't think a lot of people expected them to dominate like they have been. Also, I am surprised at how bad Michigan is... there is no other way to describe their year other than "horrible".
penn state for sure....not that i dont expect them to be good but so much attention was on my buckeyes that penn state seemed to blend in with rest of big ten....will be interesting when we play them...glad its at the shoe! Penn St!
Penn St. insiders close to the football program went into this year expecting to compete for the Big 10 Title. They are exactly where they expected to be at this point in the season. Now, if they run the table, they will have exceded all realistiec expectations. I think Michigans inability to even be competitive is a bigger surprise.
Frankly, I'm surprised how Ohio State has under-achieved this year. we were supposed to be very, very good, and we are just good. I think we were better last year! Terrel Pryor has been a surprise, and of course Penn State has been surprising as well, but lets see how they do October 25.
I would say that Michigan State is the biggest surprise. I understand that Penn State is having a great year, but they also began the year as a ranked team.
If MSU, who is now ranked #17, is able to beat Ohio State this weekend, they will be one of the biggest surprise teams in the nation, not just the big ten.
I would say my Badgers, they are playing so piss pour it's ridiculous
