What would you consider to be the three main reasons why the 1992 dream team was the best basketball team ever?
well i can't think of three but i know 2, one being we had mj, and the other being we had all pros when other countries still used ametures.
Well aside from the ocean of talent these guys had. Basketball was not that popular back then (world wide I mean). Up 'til that point, we were used to watching the NBA and we knew those were there the very best in the world but you could not imagine the difference until you saw them against the rest of the world After Barcelona, more and more people started to watch basketball in other countries. The sport was pretty good in Europe though.
Thing is, many little kids back in 92 are now true NBA stars like Gasol for example.
There might not be one single country that can compete with the US head to head. But you could put together an international team with people like Yao, Nowitzki, Gasol, Ginobilli, Parker, etc. that could defeat the current US team.
