No one knows for sure, human sexuality if simply too complex and varied a phenomena for there to be any single or easily defined causative factor. One might as well ask why some people like anchovies on pizza and others do not, it's just one more aspect of the diversity that makes us individuals. The reason people look for a "cause" is because early sex researchers adopted the standards of their own society, Victorian Age Europe, as being a universal norm and defined variations from that as forms of disease, and then began looking for a cause and a cure, just as they did with diseases like smallpox or malaria. Since homosexuality is now considered by the medical community to be perfectly normal, I'd think it was time to stop worrying about it.
Dude.. if anyone really knew the answer to that, he'd be well rich..
