It's a question on my homework and I forgot my textbook.
Describe a situation where heat can change rock into metamorphic rock.
(It's not any type of rock in particular I think.) Is a tomato a fruit or a vegetable?:: THE SCIENCE BOB. QUESTION ARCHIVES. Is the tomato The big question to ask is, DOES IT HAVE SEEDS? If the answer is yes, then technically, you have a FRUIT. http://www.sciencebob.com/lab/q-tomato.htmlHOME | Science Questions and Answers - The Naked Scientists:: Since viruses arent technically living organisms, where did they come from and how were they formed Question > [or download MP3] Science Questions http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/content/questions/question/1854HOME |
Thanks in advance!
Metamorphic rock is other forms of rock that are subjected to intense heat and/or pressure, that chemically and physically alters the original rock. Plate tectonics can create it, where the slow grinding of one continental plate against another pushes the rock down, the pressure generating the heat needed to change the rock. Volcanic activity like molten lava flow may create metamorphic rock, and on rare occasions you can have meteors strike the ground and create it. Theoretically a ground level nuclear blast might do the same thing. But Creation deep under the ground, and plate tectonics probably explain most of it.
