Development Center 4.2 software, which is designed to significantly speed
the development of StoryServer applications, content macros and templates.
Development Center adds to StoryServer 4's complete set of script editing tools, management functions and extensive set of StoryServer commands. Development Center provides a visual environment for developing models to
manage content within a database. It then builds templates for adding managing content to the database. Development Center can be used to rapidly design, test and deploy sophisticated Web applicationswithout significant training, programming and technical skills.

Peter Klante, Vignette's vice president of marketing, told internetnews.com that deploying VDC can save a typical customer as much as $100,000 in staff time for each redesign of a site. He said the system is also up to 10 times faster than manual coding.
