Verio Inc. Wednesday expanded its
Digital Subscriber Line agreement with Covad Communications Company, taking its high-speed Internet access nationwide.
Verio's (VRIO)
broadband service is based on Covad's (COVD)
asymmetrical digital subscriber line technology.
Barb Goworowski, Verio chief marketing officer, said there is a big demand
for high-speed Internet access among home-based businesses and telecommuters.

"Covad's ADSL service enables users to download files and graphics at
virtually the same speeds they enjoy in the enterprise setting, which
usually requires a high-speed dedicated connection," Goworowski said.

Robert Roblin, Covad executive vice president of marketing and sales, said
process like Verio make it easy for businesses to obtain high-speed
connections to the Internet.
"Covad's array of broadband services enables home and business users across
the nation to experience the broadband Internet as it should be," Roblin said.
Verio's ADSL service starts at $60 a month after a one-time set-up fee of
$100 after customers agree to sign a one-year contract.
