Vista is the operating system. Your "microsoft 2000" most likely had the Microsoft Office Suite of software. This includes a word processor that has templates for things like business cards, resumes, etc.

Vista does not come with Office preinstalled. You have to either purchase it or find an alternative.
Open Office is a free alternative and can be downloaded at the following website;

In any case, no Vista for me - Im perfectly happy with my not-so-legit XP, and Its probably like Dianetics where Microsoft has probably bougt 95% of its own
