Boo to You!
The sounds precede the doorbell ring
voices, sugared highs already
ā TRICK or TREAT, the echoing rings
as the doorbell gets exercise.
Neon goblin scares the youngā ns,
stand placed and sheeted for effect.
But soon they smile when treats appear.
Even ā evilā ogresā ¦entice!
Sacred rites now commercialized
traditions some say, I just laugh!
But then I remember back then
and I smile and thinkā ¦itā s ok.
So Boo to you too on this Boo night!
It's okay to feel the joy of the young.

I love this one! I dress up as a witch each year for the little ones. Then I scare my patients by wearing a uniform to work! (I don't wear one any other day. My agency gives us the choice.)
