Rich stated in an interview that Big Kenny suffered a neck injury, which led to the decision for the duo to take a hiatus until 2009.
Rich is scheduled to release a solo album later this year. According to their website, however, Big and Rich are continuing to tour, including participating in some dates of Kenny Chesney's Poets and Pirates tour.

Big Kenny and John Rich are still together as a duo.Presently there are some issues that are keeping them off the road.They still do an occasional concert but that is rare right not.Understand that they have a new tour setup for 2009 and they are gearing up for something big with it.
