it depends on who the person is, but usually if you are at school, a boring class, rude teacher, annoying kid, gross lunch food, etc etc etc or just be yourself.

As far as conversation goes, most people like to talk about themselves, so you can ask someone questions pertinent to his/her life.
You can also be more silent and withdrawn than a rock yourself. If you make it obvious you're not interested in conversation and have no desire to talk, you can be sure someone else will be motivated to open a conversation.
