I read a couple books in high school about kids going to a performing arts school. It was a series I beleive can anyone help me out with the title?

  • Thank you for the five-star rating and the tip! ~pinkfreud

  • There's a series of books for young people called "Redgate Academy of Performing Arts," by Adele Geras. Two titles are "Stagestruck" and "Lights, Camera, Action!" Could this be the series you're looking for? Here's what the cover of "Stagestruck" looks like: http://www.achuka.com/guests/adele/stagestruck.gif If this isn't your series, it would be very helpful if you could recall any additional details about the books. Even a tiny clue can sometimes lead a Researcher to an answer.

  • I'm in awe of you being able to find the books on so little information. Those are the correct ones. I do recognize the title "Lights, Camera, Action!" and that's only because it looks familiar and I'm certain it was one of the titles. I only remember that I enjoyed them and it had a performing arts theme. You found another one of the obscure books I read in high school. Thanks.

  • Please give it as an answer and I'd appreciate the extra effort on where to buy them.

  • May I post my suggestion as the answer to your question? If so, would you like me to see whether I can find any of the "Redgate Academy" books for sale? I believe they are out of print, but used copies may be available.

  • I'm the author of the Redgate Series...Adele Geras....and I'm delighted to see people still looking for them. There is no third book planned alas...they did terribly badly I'm afraid. No telling when you write things how they're going to sell.

  • Excellent!!

  • Thank you for accepting my suggestion as an answer. There's a series of books for young people called "Redgate Academy of Performing Arts," by Adele Geras. Two titles are "Stagestruck" and "Lights, Camera, Action!" I believe a third book is planned, but I have not been able to learn its title. The Redgate Academy novels are currently out of print, and are surprisingly difficult to find. I have located these used copies: Here you may purchase a paperback of "Stagestruck," at $9.76 (US): ABEbooks.com http://dogbert.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=191080300 Here are three vendors who offer used paperback copies of "Lights, Camera, Action!" (This book has become rather pricey; it appears to be a bit of a collector's item): http://www.alibris.com/search/search.cfm?qwork=3945267&ptit=Lights%2C%20camera%2C%20action%21&pauth=Geras%2C%20Ad%E8le%3C%21%2D%2D%20Adele%20%2D%2D%3E&pisbn=&pbest=15%2E18&pbestnew=1000000%2E00&pqty=3&pqtynew=0&matches=3&qsort=r If you enjoyed the Redgate Academy books, you might want to check out Adele Geras's "Egerton Hall" series. These books are retellings of the classic fairy tales Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, set at an English girls' school in the 1960s: Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0152015183/002-2704227-8630461?vi=glance Here you'll find a variety of Adele Geras novels for sale: Alibris.com http://www.alibris.com/search/search.cfm?chunk=25&wauth=adele+geras&S=R&page=2&matches=81&qsort= And here is the official Adele Geras website, where you can learn more about the author: AdeleGeras.com http://www.adelegeras.com/ Search terms used: "adele" + "geras" "ad le" + "geras" "redgate academy" "stagestruck" "lights camera action" I'm glad to have been able to identify the book series you remember from high school. If anything is unclear, or if a link does not function, please request clarification; I'll be glad to offer further assistance before you rate my answer. Best wishes, pinkfreud
