InteQ Corp. the Bedford, Mass., provider of IT infrastructure management services, today announced the appointment of Maureen Ellenberger as its new CEO, while InteQ's co-founders, Santhana Krishnan and Yash Shah, will continue in key positions with the company.
As CEO, Ellenberger, who met with the firm in October, will draw on her software development, IT consulting and sales and marketing experience to increase sales of InteQ's IT infrastructure management services.
Krishnan will continue as the chairman of the board and will direct all business development and strategic partnership activities. Shah will continue to manage solutions delivery and technology architecture development as president and chief technology officer.
"This opportunity was extremely attractive to me," says Ellenberger. "Not only does the selective IT outsourcing segment have significant market potential, but InteQ has a message that plays well in this market. It also has a significant technology infrastructure and a great team of talented people.

InteQ's search for a CEO began in May, 2001, after the firm raised $57 million in second-round financing and was able to beef-up its staff and open nine regional offices to expand its national presence.

Ellenberger's career highlights include growing her own Internet business solutions firm, Eggrock Partners from a startup in 1997 to a $14 million company that was acquired for $250 million in 2000 by its now defunct competitor, Breakaway Solutions.
As chief operations officer at Breakaway, Ellenberger had to help managed the company during its last days which she says, despite being stressful, was a valuable experience.
"It's a different ball game working for a publicly traded company with 1,000 employees than managing a start-up," she says. "But thought my tenure at the firm only accounts for a small portion of my career, it taught me to be a tougher negotiator and gave me more savvy dealing with the financial complexities of a large organization."
Prior to founding Eggrock Partners, Ellenberger managed e-business solutions provider Cambridge Technology Partners' southeast region as well as its innovations group, which was responsible for deploying e-business solutions across the enterprise.
Previously, she worked for both software vendors and industry development organizations beginning her career at Bell Laboratories. She has also held key roles in the area of sales, marketing and customer service in the software industry working with clients, partners and management teams from both large and small companies.
"Everything is in place for us to take InteQ and managed services to the next level," says Krishnan. "We have the funding in place to develop the sales and marketing strategies to grow the company. And Maureen has the extensive IT industry experience successfully growing companies to help InteQ increase its market share and brand awareness."
Going forward, Ellenberger says, InteQ will be focusing on both partnerships and reselling. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and computer sciences from Boston University.
