| Bell Canada has become the first telecommunications
company worldwide to be awarded the prestigious Web Trust and Ernst & Young
Cyber Assurance Seals.
The WebTrust program is an internationally recognized e-commerce
certification system managed in Canada by the Canadian Institute of
Chartered Accountants (CICA). To obtain the WebTrust Seal, specific parts of
Bell's Web site underwent a stringent audit.
"Now, Bell Canada customers know that when they are conducting transactions
related to the My Service and My Account parts of our Web site, that they
are doing so in a secure and safe environment," said Josie Goulet, Bell Canada's senior
vice president of Ontario consumer markets.
Specifically, obtaining the Web Trust and the Ernst & Young Cyber Assurance
Seals means that Bell Canada can ensure that orders for goods and services
will be filled, that goods can be returned, and that product warranties are
in place.
In addition, the seals indicate that customer information will remain
private and not be used for any other purposes than those which have been
agreed to by Bell Canada and the customer.

customers that the site is viable, secure and private."
